ANTIQUE TOAST RACKS

TOAST RACK VIII

Antique silver-plated metal toast stand from England.

- The inscription ‘WH & S’ is for the goldsmith William Hutton. He founded his business specialising in silverware in Birmingham in 1800 and moved in 1835 to Sheffield 27 High Street (140-146 West Street from 1886). The business was passed down through generations and remained in operation until 1930.

- The contrast ‘EP’ (Electro Plated) identifies silver plated metal in England.
