Antique English silver tongs 1881



It features the following contrasts:

- A tree with a fish and a bell hanging from it, representing the Glasgow office. This office closed on 31 March 1964.

- Sovereign's head: "royalty mark" certifying the payment of royalties. This hallmark was included on pieces between 1784 and 1890; in this case, it corresponds to the profile of Queen Victoria, which was used between 1834 and 1890.

- K&P": indicates the goldsmith.

- Walking lion: hallmark of silver in the United Kingdom.

- Letter "K": indicates the year, in this case it corresponds to 1881.
