ANTIQUE SAUCE BOATS
- The inscription ‘Viners of Sheffield’ refers to the business Viners Ltd, founded in 1901 by Adolphe Viener and his sons, in Sheffield. After several years as goldsmiths, the firm became the largest cutlery manufacturer in England after the Second World War.
- The hallmark ‘EPNS’ (Electro Plated Nickel Silver) identifies the silver-plated metal in England, and ‘A1’ indicates the quality of the silver plating, which in this case corresponds to the highest.
