Stainless steel cutlery with stonewashed finish available in different colours
Biarritz cutlery, designed and manufactured in Italy, is inspired by the antique flatware; from its design to the different types of cutlery composing the collection. All pieces are made from stainless steel with a stonewashed finish giving an irregular matte appearance in a variety of colours.
Through PVD technology it obtains its worn finish by washing the cutlery with porcelain stones, giving it a special texture.
Until the beginning of the 20th century, all metal cutlery used to rust. Keeping them clean and shiny was a very heavy task for those in charge; to the point of stating in their application letter, when they were being hired, that the would be "doing no cutlery".
Stainless steel is a material that is just over a hundred years old. It was in 1913 when the British metallurgist Harry Brearley achieved a chromium alloy with carbon steel that did not lose its shine and did not rust, remaining the same.
