ANTIQUE SAUCE BOATS
Antique French sauceboat with saucer by Christofle. The silver plated metal pieces by Christofle are of high quality, entirely handmade by skilled goldsmiths.
This antique gravy boat has three hallmarks:
- The goldsmith's mark, represented by a balance with the initials ‘OC’ (Orfévrerie Christofle).
- The hallmark of quality, identified by the ‘poinçon carré’, the official French contrast for ‘metal argenté’, which Christofle represents with a chess horse, the initials ‘OC’ identifying the house, and the indication of quality I in Roman numerals.
- The inscription ‘CHRISTOFLE France’ identifying the house.
We have selected different antique sauce boats made of silver, nickel silver and other silver-plated metals from the 20th century from different places in Europe.
We share the value and authenticity of unique pieces, the importance and care of crafts. Tradition, quality and elegance in the art of setting the table.
Old pieces have, for us, a very special value both for their patina, which reflects the passage of time, and for their unique character.
